“ Dear Jack and Jameson, I am not a girl that is known to fall in love with 2 guys at once but, how can I resist? When we first met, you played coy downplaying your meaty goodness. Smoked wings, thick cut brisket, dry ribs, wet ribs, quartered chicken, pulled pork and hamburgers. Oh, how you tease! Most guys are not a fan of a dry rub but I have vivid fantasies about your ribs and smoked wings. The pink coloring of your meat tells the story of your craft. From the sweet caramelized tips of your brisket to your fall off the bone ribs, I need a napkin for my seat. Your loaded potato salad brings me to my knees. How could I resist the sour creaminess mixed with chunked potatoes, bacon and chives? Melt in your mouth fried broccoli? Don't mind if I do! You broke my heart when you closed. You claim it was you and not me but I can't stop thinking about your thick meat. Call me. I still love you ”
“ My husband found Jack & Jameson's smokehouse on his Zagat app, with high ratings so we decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed! We had 5 people in our party and each person ordered something different so we could share. The rib sandwich was simple, yet delicious-bun, red onion, shredded meat with a tangy BBQ sauce. The steak cut fries were tasty, not too salty, but totally fine since I like to salt my own. The house-made ketchup is amazing-sweet with a bit of tang. Each meal came with your choice of sides with extra sides only $3 each. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich with roasted veggies and potato salad on the side. He said it was delicious and he's from Texas, so hard to impress. Others in our group ordered the brisket and chicken-nobody left hungry-everybody raved about their meal. Yes, the beer is served in ball jars-no big deal. They serve local craft beers on tap-which is a huge plus in my book. If you're looking for PBR in a boot mug there are plenty of honky tonks to check out in Nashville. Big shout out to our server Amelia, who was just the sweetest and super attentive. ”
“ This place is on our do it again list. Jack and Jameson's is in Franklin Tennessee. It's not real big,bar on one end, stage on the other and tables in the middle. There's a large patio outside. Our server was Cindy she was wonderful. She told us all about the place. They have a band on the weekend. And then talked about the food. She told us her favorite. So we picked the Brisket naked no bun,and it came with two sides so Mac and Cheese and Asparagus. When it came out there was this pile of Brisket it was so tended and juicy and the flavor was amazing. It came with a side of there sauce but you didn't need it. The MAC and Cheese was in a little jar it was creamy and was topped with real parmesan cheese. And the Asparagus was firm but tender it was some of the best I've ever had. I even got a few tips on how to make mine better at home. The only thing that would have made it better is that if I could have put it in my pocket and brought it home with me. Need less to say it was great. And our next trip to Nashville Jack and Jameson will be on our list of favorite. ”
“ Cool place to chill!!!! Had the smoked wings....freaking delicious!!!! A chill place to eat and socialize with family and friends. The cinnamon waffle dessert is out of this world!!!! So.... we went back the next night and met the owner. He is from Baltimore. Crab cakes are the real deal. He has blue crab flown in weekly. Fritters and potato salad is on point....delicious!!!! Now...if you are a fan of smoked meats then YOU MUST try J and J....out of bounds...no fair to others. Unbelievable in taste and preparation. Awesome joint with live music. ”
“ What a treat!! I visited this eatery with my wife and seven year old, and this place has something for everyone. Nothing was bad! Atmosphere was great and the place was very clean. My order was simple: Pork BBQ Sandwich with fries and potato salad. I was first impressed with their ketchup--it is fresh made tasting with a minor spice added that I couldn't quite place & fantastic with the fries! The BBQ sauce was good, and the bun was toasted on the inside to compliment everything. All in all the BBQ sandwich was great//use a fork, though, my friends. The potato salad is from Sysco, but that happens to be my favorite type, so I loved that. If you have never tried it, you must! My daughter ate all of her burger (that never happens) and inhaled a slice of chocolate raspberry cake. The cake was very rich...almost like a fudge. My wife enjoyed her meal as well, and shared asparagus, which was also good (coming from me that is a high mark). The service was prompt and accommodating, and the food was great! The price was a little high, but sometimes it is true and often said: you get what you pay for. ”
“ I have no idea what people are complaining about with this place. It's not a fine dining establishment, but that would be because it's not SUPPOSED to be. The dining here is as fine as I would want this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. And my only complaint is that I have neither enough time nor enough room in my stomach to try everything. Pros: Nice atmosphere, clean, BEST CRABCAKES I'VE EVER HAD (and I've had some very good ones, but these take the cake (pun intended)), great food, great service Cons: If I were to try to eat everything on the menu that I wanted to (i.e. everything on the menu) I'd either explode or need to spend every waking minute of the next 3 months at a gym. That and this place is 880 miles from home. ”
“ "Opening jitters" a week after its debut. Stopped in for lunch; I was aching for a good burger. Yes, they have traditional barbecue also...but today was a burger day for me. Rustic interior...remade/upgrade from Mickey Roo's BBQ. Three sides of the restaurant have side by side by side windows that will open (on 2 sides) onto patio seating. Should be great for warm weather. Third windowed side is the stage area for live performances. Warm greeting; prompt seating. Drink orders taken and delivered swiftly. Very good selection of brews - local and more. (See sign behind the bar for ever-changing offerings. I've posted a photo of this.) I think the menu is a great one - compact with lots of house-made items and recipes. I had the Black Dog Burger with bacon "patted" right into the meat. Grilled just a bit beyond medium...but absolutely top-notch deliciousness on a pretzel Kaiser bun. Tomato, pickle, red onion and a slathering of mustard topped it off. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. It was darn-near perfect. By the way, you can choose from 4 kinds of buns and 4 kinds of cheese to top your selection. For my side I had sweet potato fries--nicely crisp, but nothing to write home about. Our grandson ordered from the kids menu (on the back page of the main menu) -- good choices but, here was our first "hiccup." "Sorry, we're out of regular fries and out of baked potato." A bit puzzling in the middle of the week at lunch. He opted for the chicken tenders (good) and macaroni & cheese. The macaroni and cheese was tasty (but not quite to his liking - it was more to tastes of the adults at the table). Besides which, he had a bit of trouble forking it out of the flat-mini Mason jar in which it was served. IMHO the Mason jar trend is now pretty old and not so cute anymore. My Mantra "Tart la Blanche" Sour Saison was served in a Mason jar...okay, I get it. Light, summery, tart lemon flavors, but a bit $$ at 8 bucks a pint. My wife had the Keen-Wah Salad (listed on the menu as Quinoa, baby Kale, Feta, Parsley & chopped Cranberries). This was a second hiccup. It was a mixed greens salad topped with Quinoa, the Cranberries & Feta with some Baby Chopped Kale mixed in. (This, according to the owner Rick, who was kind enough to stop by our table and check on things. Very friendly and very positive about what he's trying to do with Jack & Jameson's. He definitely had an answer for all our queries.) We'll be back, especially to try the barbecue. After all, this is a smokehouse. But for starters....smoke's rising' but swirling a bit in the wind. ”
